The Trabandt family started the Old Stage Riding Stables in 1993 and own the land inside the Pike National Forest that the stables and some of the trails sit on. The Stables is run by oldest daughter Laurie and oldest granddaughter Jennifer. Of course, patriarch Hugh is a continuing presence, riding his horses and keeping himself busy up at the stables. Happily, all of the children and grandchildren are very much a part of what we do best: keeping horses healthy and content, and giving our guests a memorable and rewarding experience.

  • How to Find Us

GPS:  GPS 6620 Old Stage Road 80906 with an ETA of one hour prior to your ride time.

One mile before the zoo, stop at the four way stop and turn up the Old Stage Road.

We are 5.8 miles, and about 25 minutes, up what is primarily a twisty, windy, dirt road 2000 feet up.

When in doubt, keep going.  This is normal.  When you arrive at the stables, there are BIG signs on both sides of the road.  You can't miss it.

This will get you to the stables 30 minutes prior to your ride so that paperwork can be filled, helmets fitted if wanted, and to give you time to meet your horse!
